You mean like serverA has a table tabA in database dbA and serverB has
a table tabB in database dbB and you want to join them ans see the
output? Ala:
select *
from dbA@serverA:tabA lcl, dbB@serverB:tabB rem
where lcl.col1 = rem.col1;
The @server is not needed for the table in a local database and neither
is the database name if the database is the current database. Just
remember the complete syntax of SQL objects is always available you
just use as much or as little of it as you need. Any object can be
address as:
database@server:"owner".table.column
This will work as long as the logging status of all explicitely or
implicitely referenced databases and the current database, even if
it is not referenced in the query, have the same logging status (ie
logged, non-logged, or ANSI logging). Informix supports transparent
remote database access.
