Can anybody help me to understand that how I can make sure and what the check should I perform to check of our Database health? We are running IDS version 7.3 Thx.
Get the ratios.ksh script. It calculates and prints out several metrics that will quickly give you an overview of the server's health. There's lots more to check, but that's a start. Go to the IIUG site or the Oninit web site and download my Performance Tuning presentations from past IIUG Conferences for more things to look at. Art Art S. Thx, Recently I have added myself to IIUG. I am new to Informix,Can you please let me know where I can find your notes for DB health check? Secondly where I can find ratios.ksh script? Really appreciate your help on this.
Ah, the ratios.ksh is in the IIUG Software Repository (www.iiug.org/software or click on Software Repository in the menu along he left side of the IIUG Home page) along with many other tools for Informix DBAs and Developers. When you get there click the Repository Index tab at the top of the center frame and select Full Index then select 'R' in the alpha list at the top of the page. You will see ratios near the top at the left. This version is actually a PERL script, but it works (assuming you have Perl installed). If you don't send me an email directly and I'll send you a ksh version. You'll find the Conference Presentation materials on the Members Only pages, so you'll have to log in to see them. While you are in the repository, download my package, utils2_ak, it is one of the most useful in the Repository if I have to say so myself. Art Art S.
