Andrew You can get this from systables, sysindexes and sysccolumns tables in your database, you dont need the sysmaster database. 1) From systables, find the tabid corresponding to the tabname. 2) From syscolumns, find the colno(s) corresponding to the column names using tabid found in step 1. 3) From sysindexes check out the values of part1-pat16 (for IDS) and part1-part8 (for SE) to see if they match the colno list found in step 2. Given a table name and a list of column names I would like to know if there is an index on that table with those columns, and if so what is the name of that index? I have been working on this and all I can get is a list of indexes on a given table. Thanks.
