What is Best way to Backup Informix Data?

Howdy, I am looking for advice on the best backup schedule. We have a SCO OpenServer system running Informix OWS. The Database is still fairly small and the whole system can be backed up in less than an hour on 4MM DAT tape. (via Lone-tar) Just for grins, I run a shell program (via cron) that runs dbexport for all my tables so I have an 'ascii' backup of the Databases before the DAT backup every night. This is great because I have a 'portable' version of the data that I can copy to my SE server for testing, etc. My main 'problem' is that because I only have one tape drive, I cannot backup with ontape and Lone-tar every night unattended. I have two main questions: - Does Informix 'require' that ontape be run to reuse logs, etc? - Or, should I run ontape everynight and do a full system backup weekly?
