Re: ace syntax

Hi Pete, Here's a partial example based on a name and address file that I wrote yesterday! You need something like this in the define section: ASCII sal char(6),fname char(12),lname char(18),adr1 char(30), adr2 char(30),adr3 char(30),city char(25),stdes char(35), zip char(10) and you need a 'read' section instead of a select: READ "/u/TMStuff/cliout/TMS/TMSc_custchart.txt" DELIMITER "|" END Apart from this it's a normal ACE report!! Cheers, Richard. At 07:49 11/07/97 GMT, you wrote: >Dear All, > >I believe the more recent ace report writers allow you to read from an >ascii file (as well as database tables).
