I would have to say that this should have climbed up the priority ladder. Especially since IBM's marketing droids have decided to push IDS as a "lights out" database. Making the install process easier and initial tuning simpler would be a step in the right direction. As to doing the "full job" in a sense it does. Is the database going to perform at an optimum level? No. Is it going to perform "well enough" or better than no tuning and relying on the default parameters? You betcha. And thats the goal. To give the user a better set of default parameters. Having multiple "example" scripts doesn't really do a lot of good, and may cause more confusion. _________________________________________________________________ Interest Rates near 39yr lows! $430,000 Mortgage for $1,399/mo - Calculate new payment http://www.lowermybills.com/lre/index.jsp?sourceid=lmb-9632-18466&moid=7581
