Problem with HDR over Windows 2003 servers
Posted in 2006
I have done HDR setup over Aix severs before without any problem.
I am now running into problem with setting up HDR over Windows 2003 servers.
If anyone has experience on setting up Informix HDR on Windows, please help.
Windows Server: two identifcal Windows server 2003 (SP1).
Informix: IDS9.40.TC4
1)Primary informix instance: ifx1_blue, was installed on a Windows domain
controller (server 2003), using the domain infomix user account:
bluedomain\\\\informix.
2)Secondary informix instance, ifx_vs2003blue, was installed on a Windows
member server that belongs to domain "bluedomain", using the same domain
informix user account: bluedomain\\\\informix.
3)Configured the two instances to connect. Did Level-0 on primary instance.
4) Logon to primary server as "bluedomain\\\\informix" , and run: "onmode -d
primay ifx1_vs2003blue", OK. (Primary server set; Secondary sever not started.)
5)logon secondary server as "bluedomain\\\\informix", "run ontape -p"
successfully. Then run: "onmode -d secondary ifx1_blue" , then got the
following message:
13:50:43 DR: Secondary to Secondary
13:50:44 DR: new type = secondary, primary server name = ifx1_blue
13:50:44 Warning: Invalid (non-existent/blobspace/disabled) dbspace listed in
DBSPACETEMP: 'tempdb1'
13:50:44 Warning: Invalid (non-existent/blobspace/disabled) dbspace listed in
DBSPACETEMP: 'tempdb2'
13:50:44 Warning: Invalid (non-existent/blobspace/disabled) dbspace listed in
DBSPACETEMP: 'tempdb3'
13:50:44 DR: Trying to connect to primary server = ifx1_blue
13:50:48 DR: Cannot connect to primary server
13:50:48 DR: Turned off on secondary server
5) Then I went to the primary server, here is what happened on primary server,
ifx1_blue :
13:50:45 listener-thread: err = -956: oserr = 2: errstr =
(informix@VS2003BLUE.BLUEDOMAIN.COM): Client host or user
(informix@VS2003BLUE.BLUEDOMAIN.COM) is not trusted by the server.
System error = 2.
I am sure I installed the secondary instance as domain user:
bluedomain\\\\informix. Plus, there is not a local user: informix, on vs2003blue
-- the user "informix@VS2003BLUE.BLUEDOMAIN.COM" does not even exist on
vs2003blue.
Also vs2003blue is set up as a "trust computer for delegation" by bluedomain
controller, where the primary server resides.
Our windows system admin can not help me figure out the cause. Your suggestion
is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
David Li
