Errors -229 & -162

I'm working with a client in Kansas City and helping them break in some new application software. They have been experiencing a recurring problem. We have the following versions installed: isql V 4.10.UD2 i4gl V 4.10.UD3 on-line 5.00 UC2 esql 5.00 UC1 The DBTEMP environmental variable is not set, so it defaults to /tmp directory. The /tmp directory has 54873 kilobytes. and only 3% of its inodes are used with 23911 free. The errors are: -229 Could not open or create a temporary file. and -162 ISAM err: BlobSpace does not exist. Looking at the code, there are no blobs or blobspaces involved in this database.
