Using DLTs

Solaris 2.5, OnLine 7.13. I'm trying to create an archive to DLT. I get an error from onarchive: "Cannot rewind tape device" I know it's OK with onarchive in 7.22 as a colleague in another bank is using it. I called Informix Tech Support and they told me that "DLTs are not supported until v7.20", and therefore refuse to help me. I'm furious at this; there's nothing in the release notes to suggest that DLTs are not supported; indeed the ONLINE_7 file explicitly states that they are.
