Q: CLI and JDBC_ODBC bridge

Hi ! We are using Informix Online 7.23 and hope to get access through JDBC with Informix CLI as ODBC-driver on a Solaris 2.5 platform. Is there anyone who uses a similar configuration, e.g. CLI with online 7.23 ? Is there anyone who has successfully installed a JDBC-ODBC brigde on behalf of informix CLI ? I did install Informix CLI after I had installed E/ESQL. Than I went on to install online 7.23. Is that order of installation correct ? By the way, we are running JDK 1.1.3 I have some sample Java app to test the connection, which would give me various errors: 1) First of all I had to add $INFORMIXDIR/cli/dlls to the LD_LIBRARY_PATH - O.K. the doc says to do so. 2) But this did not make it and I had to add $INFORMIXDIR/lib and also $INFORMIXDIR/lib/esql. With such an env setting the odbc driver manager found the odbc drivers and the odbc driver found all the informix libs like libixgen.so. 3) However I ended up with an dynamic link error like: symbol gl_setextfunc not defined in libixgen.so No doubt, nm tells me that libixgen.so [854] | 0| 0|NOTY |GLOB |0 |UNDEF |gl_setextfunc I assume that the installation/configuration is somehow wrong.
