This will be a special membership drive meeting. Three separate presentations are scheduled, be sure to invite your friends, coworkers, or anyone who may be interested in joining our group. The topic of the meeting will be Informix's recent acquisition of Illustra Information Technologies, Inc. Illustra is a leading supplier of dynamic content management database software and tools for managing complex data in the Internet, multimedia/entertainment, financial services, earth sciences, and other markets. This acquisition will enable Informix to integrate Illustra's dynamic content management system, including existing DataBlade(R) modules, into its core parallel database technology, Dynamic Scalable Architecture (DSA). The combined technologies will result in the INFORMIX-Universal Server, scheduled to ship in the fourth quarter of 1996. Presentation and Demonstration of Illustra and 'Datablades' Directions to the Mariott: ------------------------- Take I-75, north of Detroit, north of I-696, to exit 69 - Big Beaver Road (EAST) Head EAST 1 block, the hotel will be on your left. Next Meeting ------------ MIUG meetings are held every other month, usually on the third Tuesday of the month. The next meeting will be on Tuesday May 21, 1996, at the Best Western Hotel (Livonia, on 6 mile just east of I-275). The topic will be "Tools for Decision Support Systems", and will feature a presentation by ZenaComp, of tools currently available from Cognos. Membership dues --------------- The March 19th meeting is free to all so feel free to bring a friend, however, normally the following fees or dues are required: o Individual Member - $25.00 annually o Corporate Membership - $100.00 annually. There will be TWO liaisons for each organization. It is the liaisons responsibility to distribute the notification of the MIUG Meeting Agendas.
