Re: Informix on vms /nt-alpha

Hi, Informix does not sell anything on VMS. There was a port around 1989 1990 time frame on VMS but it was shelved. I will not recommend to buy anything on NT for the time being except on Intel platform. I can understand that maybe your organization has decided on Digital platform but if you can try to recomment NT/Intel. The bulk of the efforts in all database companies for NT is going toward NT/Intel because of the popularity of the platform and the amount of money it generates. NT/Intel is also among the very first ports for every new release. Besides Microsoft Sql server is the product to beat which again is very popular on NT/Intel. As you know there were news reports in the past days about a possible settlement of Intellectual property law suite between Intel and Digital. I would wait a while and see what happens with the alpha before making any commitments. Just my own Humble opinion.
