Embedded SQL in WingZ
Posted in 1992
We are just getting our feet wet with Wingz in order to access an On-Line database. One of our objectives was to be able to embed SQL queries into a range of cells in order to create standard applications for information retrieval, where a re-calc of the spreadsheet would fetch new numbers and totals from the on-line database. We would want to use the values contained in one or more cells as variables for the query. So far in my limited reading of the manuals, I have not been able to figure out how to accomplish this without writing Hyperscript code. Once we put together several "applications" together using such a technique, we would want to idiot proof it by driving it with Hyperscript, but we are not there yet. At this point, we are simply trying to sell the concept of Wingz to project management, so we just want to create something simple, yet powerful examples to prove this capability. Any suggestions or examples are appreciated. I would also like to hear some recommendations on Hyperscript training. -- >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> |||||||||||| Dean T.
