Well I'm planning to go, I've booked the time off work and registered! BA flights are Wed 7th December £100 London Gatwick-> Atlanta Sun 11th December £110 Altanta -> London Gatwick The Sunday flight is cheaper than a £700 flight on Saturday and I want at least one day to look around as I've never been to the USA before! Total price including Vat 318.80 Does anyone know a) cheaper flights? b) how much a taxi ride to the hotel SHOULD be? c) Good cheap food places nearby? Do people normally meet up at a bar in the evening during these events? Can you meet the speakers in the evening? d) What is the $50 registration in UK money? Can I send a cheque from my bank in UK money? e) How much in travellers cheques would I need for Wed-Sun with Sat spent looking around? f) Places to see in the local area (must see things)? Well that's my first proper holiday in 5 years planned then! David.

Good and cheap are a bit relative, but we could probably point you in the right direction . . . . don't know about the bar, as I don't drink. > Can you meet the speakers in the evening? I'll see if I can't get a list together and deliver it offline. > >Well that's my first proper holiday in 5 years planned then!

Look forward to 3 hours in the immigration line and a session with someone from "Homeland Secrurity" and a pair of rubber gloves then. >> Total price including Vat 318.80 There's no VAT on air travel. >> d) What is the $50 registration in UK money? Can I send a cheque from my bank in UK money? Yes but it'll cost another $50 in charges. Just ask them if you can pay cash on arrival - they're nice people and it's very well organised so I'm sure it won't be an issue. >> e) How much in travellers cheques would I need for Wed-Sun with Sat spent looking around? Bloody hell, you haven't travelled for a while! Whilst packing travellers' cheques don't forget your slide rule, platform shoes and lava lamp ...
