Bad key information in tbspace
Posted in 1993
System: RS/6000 Model 580F
INFORMIX: Online V5.0, 4GL 4.10
I have an INFORMIX-4GL program that runs fine once. However, second time I
run the program I receive this error:
Date: 07/02/93 Time: 06:12:37
Program error at "all_pr01.4gl", line number 117.
SQL statement error number -245.
Could not position within a file via an index.
SYSTEM error number -103.
ISAM error: illegal key descriptor (too many parts or too long).
Line 117 is opening a cursor on a table called zzawippw. A tbcheck of this
table indicates:
$ tbcheck -cI columbia:zzawippw
Validating indexes for columbia:informix.zzawippw...
ERROR: Bad key information in tblspace description.
If I drop the table and recreate it and the two indices, then run the
program again -- The program runs without and error. But! Then if I run it
again, I get the same error. The only thing we're doing to the table prior
to receiving the error message is:
######################################################################
function del_work()
######################################################################
# delete all the records in all work tables.
begin work
lock table zzawippw in exclusive mode
whenever error continue
drop index zzawippw1
drop index zzawippw2
whenever error call error_alloc
delete from zzawippw
commit work
end function
Does anyone have any idea what may be happening here? It's making me
crazy(er)... Thanks.
