Re: Oracle/Sybase/Informix/MS-SQL Server

I've used Informix and MS SQL, both on NT Server 4.0. I am new at RDBMS, but an old pro at Windows development. Coming from a Windows background, I found MS SQL much more comfortable and easier to install/configure. Also Informix still crashes on me when I try to use their GUI front end (called Database Explorer). I have nothing bad to say about MS SQL yet, but then I'm using it on a LAN with a very small number of users. If any clients are still running Win 3.11, keep in mind Informix supports only TCP (and IPX I am told) which may require third party software. (a TCP stack comes with Win95 but not Win3.11) I've never used Oracle. MS SQL was developed using Sybase as a base, so they are probably similar, but I don't have first hand experience with Sybase.
