Basically, you use the BEFORE ROW clause of the INPUT ARRAY statement to call the routine that displays the field_3 and field_4. It needs to know the program array index of the current row, which can be had from function ARR_CURR(). It then does a DISPLAY from the appropriate record of the program array. An alternative is to diaplay the first part of each field in the scrolling array and jump to the full size version on a BEFORE FIELD clause. This requires some mucking about with FGL_LASTKEY() to make it work intuitively. INPUT ARRAYS that are too wide for the screen must be one of the biggest bugbears of 4GL programs. A fix for this (sideways scrolling, perhaps?) must be at or near the top of most folk's wish list. -- Peter Lancashire Information Systems Specialist, Bayer plc Eastern Way, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, IP32 7AH, UK Tel: +44-1635-562258, Fax: +44-1635-562281 Mail: Peter.Lancashire.PL1@bayer.co.uk --- My Internet plumbing does not allow me to mail and post news together.
