Any pure I4GL application should recompile without problems, and apart from behaviour based on 2-digits years (which would change if you set the DBCENTURY environment vasriable and/or set the system clock to later than 1999-12-31) and bug fixes, it should all be the same as before apart from fixed bugs. If you had any hybrid I4GL 6.x and ESQL/C 7.23 applications, you wouldn't need to be asking the question -- it certainly shouldn't have worked. So, I'd go ahead and do it. But I've not had hands-on experience with 7.20 I4GL, so there might be a gotcha which I haven't heard about.
