Connection Pool

Hello everybody! I have been looking for this issue for some hours and I wasn't able to find anything. How can I use the connection pool for IDS 9.4? I'm developing in C# of Visual Studio .NET. Until now I have been using Oracle. And to use the connection pool, I only had to use the same string connection and the Oracle Database Manager uses then the connection pool. How can make the same for Informix? How can I use the connection pool? Thank you everybody!
No .NET expert, but my understanding is that connection pooling works fine in the IBM Informix .NET and in the IBM generic .NET providers both of which work with IDS 11.10 and later (only the Informix one will work with 9.40 however). You can refer Informix ADO.NET reference guide for detail connection pooling information. Below is the link to download the same. http://www.elink.ibmlink.ibm.com/publications/servlet/pbi.wss?CTY=US&FNC=SRX&PBL =SC23-9516-02 In short, Informix .NET provider does provide connection pooling with following connection pooling attributes. By default connection pooling is ON(pooling=true) in Informix .NET provider. -Min Pool Size -Max Pool Size -Connection Lifetime -Connection Reset -Connection Timeout Beside the above attributes there are two more connection properties which can be used to get the counts of active (in use) and idle (opened but not in use) connections at any point of time in your application. -GetIdleConnectionsCount -GetActiveConnectionsCount In case you are using Informix ODBC Driver to connect to IDS in your VS .NET application then connection pooling will be provided by Microsoft ODBC Driver manager.
