check into the PROMPT command, its part of the input section of ACE reports.
the systax is something like:
define
variable start_date date
variable end_date date
end
input
prompt for start_date using "Enter Start Date : "
prompt for end_date using "Enter End Date : "
end
select *
from tables
where sdate >= $start_date
and edate <= $end_date
end
i believe you can find this in the SQL User Guide.
