A consultant wanted to sell us an INFORMIX-OnLine Database Driver Internals documentation. What exactly is it and is this documentation necessary ? Thanks in advance !

Could be lots of things, or nothing useful at all. There is an Informix Internals course that Informix gives which provides an extensive course manual but selling that would be copyright violation so it COULDN'T be that! ;-) Ask the pointed questions: What is contained? How does it help me to have this document? Was the information legally obtained? If it contains information which is the property of Informix does the consultant have their permission of distribute it? I know lots of stuff I could write about also, as do many other Informix long timers, much of it is from my own digging and I could legally write about it, but some was provided to me by Informix under agreement that I not share it with anyone else. Anyone I gave such information to might be similarly libel. Be careful. Art S. Kagel
