Once upon a time, in a galaxy before Obnoxio, (now you know it was a long time ago ;) ), there was an install order for Informix products called TEN for (t)ools, (e)ngines, (n)etworks. A year and a half ago, I found out that the order had changed, but I don't recall what it was. So what would the recommended order be for these products? I4gl development I4gl runtime r4gl development interactive debugger isql ids 9.3 or 9.4 Thanks! -- Dave Thacker Senior Systems Administrator Omni Hotels Reservation Center V:402-952-6535 F:402-334-8013 M: 402-981-4613 (24/7) sending to informix-list

Practically, most of us still follow the rule of TEN (no Obnoxio, the SDK does not get installed last because of this rule but due to the version modifier rule:) but modified by a new rule introduced also some time ago, that newer versions (by version # not production date) of anything should be installed after earlier versions. So since the engine is 7.31 or 9.2/3/4 it gets installed after ISQL or I4GL which are only up to 7.31 (so if the engine is 7.31 rule of TEN overrides). Since the SDK is at version 9.81 (or at least the ESQL/C it contains is) or so it gets installed after the engine. Art S.
