Yes you need a development product. The choices are:
Informix 4GL Rapid Development System
Informix 4GL Compiled
Informix ESQL/C (Embedded SQL for C)
Informix CLI (ODBC compliant Command Level Interface)
Once you have ESQL/C you can compile JDBC and/or DBD/DBI and develop in
Java or Perl also. There is also a TCL/TK interface available on the
WEB.
