OWS on NT: Question on Space Explorer

Hi, Can anybody tell me where the Space Explorer takes it's informations from? I have the following problem: The NT-system has a disk of about 6 GB whereof about 4 GB are free (seen by "dir"). The space explorer does not allow me to add a chunk because it reports 0MB free. The next day, for some reasons I had to restore an older version of the database (witrh different chunk sizes). After the restore, a "dir" reports about 3 GB free. Now, also the space explorer reports the same value. Note: also in the first case, the NT server has been reinitialized several times. Question: Is there any explanation? What is the value in the last line (total size) in the space explorer meaning?
