i've downloaded a trial version of the windows client 11.50 (on xp pro). while trying to install it errors out, saying it is looking for a profile path and directory. the docs make no mention as to what the directory needs to contain, where it is to be located, etc. i'm stuck. has anyone installed this package successfully? what/where is the profile dir? thanks.
Hi Kevin, Can you find a small Activation Key zip file, along with the Informix Warehouse Feature client and server components, on the download page? Both the Informix Warehouse Feature client and server components require to pass the installer (install.exe in case of Windows) the path to the Activation Key zip file in the -Dprofile option. For instance, if we download the Informix Warehouse Feature Activation zip file (it's around 0.5 MB), along with the Informix Warehouse Feature client, then we would install the client component (Design Studio) using a procedure like this: (1) download and uncompress the image for the Informix Warehouse Feature client (2) download the small Activation key zip file as well (3) install the Informix Warehouse Feature client on Windows using: cd c:\\\\path\\\\to\\\\uncompressed\\\\Informix\\\\Warehouse\\\\Feature\\\\Client\\\\component install.exe -Dprofile=c:\\\\path\\\\to\\\\the\\\\Activation\\\\key\\\\file.zip You could try using the same Activation zip file for the installation of your client and server components (in the -Dprofile option). Here's the installation guide page that explains the install process: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/idshelp/v115/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.d we.install.doc/installing_wizards.html Hope it helps.
