We are currently seeking experienced Informix DBA's that are interested in making their day to day DBA tasks easier and faster. Below is a brief description of the tools. Tool Brief description -------------------------------------------------------------------------- zload - Table load utility. Parallel processes, uncompression on the fly, many options. zunload - Table unloader. Parallel processes, compression on the fly, etc. zimport - Database importer. Parallel processes, compression on the fly, etc. zexport - Database exporter. Parallel processes, auto uncompression, etc. zarch - Archive utility. Compression on the fly, unattended execution, extensive error condition handling, simultaneous multiple tape device support, etc. zschema ** - Schema utility. Filtering of extraneous info, sorted output, include dbspace, extent size and locking modes (even with older version of Informix online!). Output is ideal for diff or sdiff. Many many options. zweb ** - Convert database schema to HTML document (see sample at out web site). Navigate database structure with WEB browser! zview ** - Creates HTML report from SQL statement. Many options! ztruncate - Table truncate utility. Purges the contents of a table fast. zperm - Permissions utility. Clone, copy, and change permissions fast. zspace ** - Space reporting tool. Reports used, allocated, and wasted space by table, fragment, database, or dbspace. Outputs either in text or HTML format. zscan - Error / Syslog utility (hooks online.log to syslog). zleave - Data interleaving utility (see web page for details). zbuild ** - Generates shell script that can be used to create entire Informix instance. A must for disaster recovery plans. ** - Already in beta. The official release is scheduled for April. Prices for the final product have not yet been set. More information will be posted soon on the Ztools web page and on comp.databases.informix. We are seeking beta testers that use Informix On-line in their day to day jobs. Beta testers that contribute to the quality of the software will receive substantial discounts on the final product and will get to try the software during the evaluation period.
