RE: CLI

According to the error message, you should check whether the service name =
"wase" has been defined in /etc/services on both client(windows 95) and =
server platform, and check also the path name set up for tcp/ip program on =
your PC (Client).

Hi...
I am running Online 7.22 on HP-UX 10.22 with Informix-CLI 2.50,
Windows Access 97 and Windows 95 on my PC.
I have tried many different things to get it working.
The error message:
[INTERSOLV][ODBC Informix driver][Informix]Cannot locate whse
service/tcp service in /etc/services.
[INTERSOLV][ODBC Informix driver][Informix] Unknown error message
11004
/usr/informix/etc/sqlhosts info:
whse onipcshm warehous warehous
whse_soc onsoctcp warehous whse
/etc/services info:
whse 1526/tcp
/usr/informix/etc/onconfig.whse info:
SERVERNUM 91
DBSERVERNAME whse
DBSERVERALIASES whse_soc
NETTYPE ipcshm, 1, 20, CPU
NETTYPE soctcp, 1 , 20, NET
INFORMIX CLI 2.50
ODBC Data Source Administrator
In the User DSN information:
Data_Source Name: Information-Services
Description: whse information
Database Name: whse
then the next step was Advanced buttion I clicked on.
In the Advanced button info:
Database List: warehouse system
Default User Name: thucn
Host Name: warehous (our machine name)
Service name: whse
Server name: whse_soc
Protocol Type: onsoctcp
The Sysstem DSN is same info as User DSN.
In the File DSN menu,
"logon to Informix 7.2"
database name: whse (our database name is whse)
host name: warehous
user name: thucn
password: ********
then the next step was option button I clicked on
Service name: whse
Server name: whse_soc
Protocol type: onsoctcp
The error message I got above at the top of this message.
I tried whse instead of whse_soc as server name and warehous
instead of whse as a service name but the result was same.
Before I upgraded to Windows 95 from Windows 3.11 but the CLI 2.50
was same, it worked well..
Thanks in advance for your response!
Thuc
