Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
A poster using HDR replication asked whether dbspaces must be created separately on primary and secondary. Clive Eisen confirmed, echoing rkusenet, that the chunk devices must exist with correct permissions on both servers, but the space is added with onspaces only on the primary. The poster accepted this. Solved.

i am using HDR replication. One post said i must manually create spaces
on each secondary and primary separately versus automatic replication
from primary to secondary. I take it O the Clown would not agree with
this ? Am I being dumb and missing where this info is in the informix
manuals?
Thanks again...

and rkusenet gave you the correct answer
make the chunks available with the correct permissions on both primary
and secondary, but add it to IDS using onspaces only on the primary
my comment related to what happens if you forget to set the perms, or
even make the device available on the secondary before you run onspaces
on the primary
Great.....Thanks!
