How to get UPDATE, INSERT, DELETE query on some specified tables ?

Hi, I want to know how I should do to get UPDATE, INSERT, DELETE query on some specified tables, in some critical OLTP environment. Are there any method be more efficient than create triggers on those tables ? If you need more detail about my working environment for this manipulation, please tell me. Thanks for your kindness.
