Did you have indexes attached in 7.31 and are they detached from
tables now in 9.4??
We had to learn, that especially when you see lower index filtering
on crieria no so optimal, detaching makes a huge difference *not* to
the bettter....
Anyway:
Check your sequential scans, if you have more than a few.
Check onstat -g ppf. This shows you per partnum, what I/O
is going on and how good the table or index chaching rate is.
Only caveat is, that one needs a script to add the table
or index name to those ppf lines as they identify the objects by
their respective partnums only.

Well, this database has gone from 7.13->7.24->9.20->9.21->9.40 in six years.
So probably some indexes are still attached from the v7 days (3+ years ago).
A lot will have been converted to detached through housekeeping though.
