Informix 4.1 vs later versions

I have sent a message before and it got corrupted. So I am posting it again. Our company is going to install an Informix system and I would like to know which version of Informix is better (programming bugs, stability, and helpful hints). I have heard that 4.1 is the most stable version so far. Is that true? Thanks in advance. Tony Chow.
