When opening a connection, you can specify a lot of parametesr: Server, Database, Host, UID, DBLOCALE ... But can we set the environment variables (from SETNET32) from the appliction ? How can we set DBDATE oder DBMONEY ? Example: DSN=IFXODBC;SERVER=ifx_vmsles;Host=vmsles11;Database=obserwer;UID=obs;PWD=xxxxt;PROTOCOL=olsoctcp;SERVICE=9088; USESERVERDBLOCALE;CURB=1;SCUR=1;ICUR=1;OAC=1;OPTOFC=1;RKC=1 works fine. But when we added "DBDATE=DMY4." it doesn't change the global settings from SETNET32 ? DBDATE is picked up from the user's environment, so on Windows you can set them from setnet32 or in the environment before starting the application. Art Art S. Yes, we know setnet32 and use this util since many years. But the disadvantage is, that every user can change his settings. Therefore we would prefer to set this environment variables by the application. We set the Environment during start-up of the application in the registry before we open any connection.
