Re: Running lots of instances on one HP

DON'T DO IT!!!! HP can't handle the number of memory segments your talking about ( 2 per instance - given version 7.23 and above -- 3 per if 7.1X - 7.22 )... 16 running currently? I'm sorry! We try to limit it to 2 on a box ( HP ) Especially when they are active ( or intense apps: e.g.: Lawson financials ). We currently have 3 Lawson instances on one box and are planning on merging two of them to cut it down to two instances... BTW: We have 27 instances in house (from 200MB - 300GB), and growing. Search Deja News for threads on this -- it has been discussed before. Eric P. Melillo Sr. Database Administrator Associated Grocers, Inc. Are there any other things that I should be aware of while running (what seems to be) such a large number of instances. (Apart from the logistical nightmare!!!!) Cheers for any ideas! James BTW: I currently have 16 instances running OK....
