Does the sql statement you use contain something like
select count(distinct col) with col being varchar(255)
This is a reported bug for Online 7.10UD1 (Bug No 43447).
We also had problems in a stored procedure returning in a select list a
varchar(255) causing the same error.Our Version was Online Ver. 6.00UE2
on a Solaris 2.3

ERROR -25587 SEGMENTATION VIOLATION WHEN DOING "SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT COL)
FROM TAB WHERE COL IS A VARCHAR(255).
On a column with varchar(255), if you run the following query you
will get error 25587 and the enigne will crash with a segmentatio
n violation. Here is the stack trace.
