help w/optimizing ace?

Is there someone there who would work off-line with a programmer at my activity in optimizing an ace script in SQL 2.10.03G? They have a humunguous (sp?) select statements with "or" and "union" and nested selects and other stuff and it seems to my not-very-experienced eye to be very resource wasteful; which fact is supported by their complaints of how long it takes to run. Queries on the "perform forms" run quickly. They asked me as sysadmin to re-org disks and do hardware stuff to make it faster. We ran "alter index to cluster" to lose the white space and order the indexes, but no improvement. Finally I did re-format the disk and restore the Unix file system. Still no better. I really believe the coding is the problem. I would send code to someone willing to give a shot at revising it. Warning my mailer sometimes cannot connect with some non-mil addresses, but I will try.
