Inserting an empty field

Hi there, I'm trying to insert a record into a table using ODBC calls. One of the key fields which I'm trying to insert contains an empty string (""). When I execute the statement, ODBC complains that one of the key fields has a NULL value. Isn't an empty string different from a NULL string? I used the following way to bind the particular parameter: SQLBindParameter(hstmt, param#, SQL_PARAM_INPUT, SQL_C_CHAR, SQL_VARCHAR, 20, 0, myValue, 0, NULL); Anyone knows if this is a bug in the ODBC driver or an INFORMIX restriction? I'm using CLI 2.5 on ODS 7.23 running HP-UX 10.20. Best Regards, Wan Ling
