Listen to the chorus. Test the upgrade. Buy, rent or steal some hardware, set it up to match your current config and then perform the upgrade and see what happens. Test that you can get back if you have to revert halfway through. Find all the "faulty DBA" and "negligent SysAdmin" problems before you start. If you don't, Monday could be horrible..... DT
