ids 94 cdr set problem
Posted in 2010
A user on IDS 9.4 wanted Enterprise Replication to copy table t from database stores_demo on server A to stores_demo on server B, and then on to a second database (demo) residing in the same instance as server A. The first leg worked, but data never reached the demo database. Madison Pruet explained the cause: ER does not support replicating between two databases within the same instance. Suggested alternatives were a synonym/alias (rejected by the poster because the table holds an image/BLOB column) or triggers, but no confirmed working solution is recorded in the thread.

dear all, i try to define a replicat from A server A database to A server B database and C server C database. could anyone help me how to set the replication? thanks in advance

thanks~ But if ER doesn't support replicating from one database to another in the same instance, what could I do for this requirement? do you have any suggestion for that? Trigger is one way that I might try it later, but I am not sure if we can create a trigger specifies a column with image. If these tables are in different databases of the same instance, Can you just define a link/alias... to get your things done? Replicate within one instance sounds a funny attempt? Becasue we have a column with image in the table, we can't use synonym to do this work. any other advise? fan >If these tables are in different databases of the same instance, Can you >just define a link/alias... to get your things done?
