Hi, We are running Informix9.13. I connect to informix server using exceed and when I try to execute isql from the prompt I get the following error message "The type of your terminal is unknown to the system". I am logging using as "informix". I am not sure if I am doing some thing wrong or if there is something with db configuration or some other net work configuration. I was hoping somebody might be able to help me out with this. Thanks in advance. Regards, Prasad

Fine. What's the value of the $TERM environment variable? The values of $TERMCAP and $TERMINFO and $INFORMIXTERM can also be important, but lets start with the basics... > I am not sure if I am doing some thing wrong or if there is something > with db configuration or some other net work configuration. > > I was hoping somebody might be able to help me out with this. > > Thanks in advance. > Regards, > Prasad -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.60 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
try the following: TERM=vt100 depending on your shell, you may have to export TERM as well. Doesn't matter if you're using a vt100... it works!
