There is a formula in the Administrator's Guide. Or at least I
thought there was: having just scanned the .pdf from the web site, I
can't find it. Perhaps someone else can remember where it is. It
might also be in the FAQ at http://www.iiug.org

Basically, your total logical log size should cater for your largest
transaction ever possible.

You can use ontape -a or ontape -c if you're running OnLine 7 or
tbtape -a or tbtape -c if you're using OnLine 5.
