Re: How To connect to remote database in Online 7.1
Posted in 1996
Raj,
You don't mention what version of Online you are running. If
it's 5.X then just start the sqlexecd daemon with the -l log option.
This option will log all attempts. What you'll probably notice
is that the host you have listed in the sqlhosts file of "level3"
will be listed in the log file either in uppercase or as
"level3.xxx.xxx". Then just change the entry in the sqlhosts file
to match. Once you get it working, stop/start the sqlexecd daemon
without the log option. That logfile can grow quickly!
If it's version 6 or higher, then run the command "nslookup" on level3.
The name that comes back, is what you should either change
the entry in the sqlhosts to be, or add an alias in the /etc/hosts
file to match it for level3.
Good Luck!
Tracy
