Scalable Triggering/Alerting System

I'm starting a company to build a scalable triggering and alerting system. We have a working prototype for Informix/UDO 9.14. The system works either as a datablade or as middleware, so it can be ported to work with older versions of Informix. We can support *thousands* to *millions* of alerting rules. The system works asynchronously but provides near-instantaneous response time. Trigger actions can send alert messages to users via email or an alerting API. Trigger actions can also run SQL statements. Possible applications include: * notifying real estate salespeople of new properties for sale that match a profile * notifying law enforcement officials of new information potentially related to a case they are investigating (e.g. events that occurred around the same time) * many others To get seed funding, we need to show that there are customers who would buy this product if we had it to sell. Would your organization be interested in buying such a product? For what application? Do you know of any organizations besides your own that might buy the product? Please send your reply to hanson@velara.com I can provide more information on request. Regards, Eric Hanson 352-392-2691 hanson@velara.com Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
BLoomberg as applications which could benefit from such a DataBlade if ported to IDS.2000 which should be trivial. Also the backward compatibility of the middleware version would be interesting to speed implementation. Art S.
