I-Net/PC 5.01 --> Unix Online 7.x?

Dear Informix Experts, we are presently running an Online 5.03 (hopefully soon 5.05) shop in a networked environment with a growing number of client PCs accessing the server via I-Net/PC 5.01 and ODBC. Performance, while not over- whelming, has been satisfactory and the system is reasonably stable. Our IS dept. is considering upgrading all Informix servers to 7.x. We would not object, provided that all our frontend programs are upgraded at the same time from 4.x to 6.x to avoid having to go through the performance-eating "relay module". Now what about the PC clients with the 5.01 version of I-Net? Will they suffer from the "relay module" problem or does it not make any difference to them? AFAIK, there is no 7.x version available of I-Net/PC.
