9.4 chunk size

Hi, I believe from what I've read everywhere that 9.40 doesn't have a 2Gb limit on the chunk size and offset. When I try to add a space that has an offset greater than "2097150k" it is failing with an error telling me that. Is there something I'm supposed to execute on the server to let me do this? Backwards compatibility is not an issue. Any help appreciated. Regards, Josh. sending to informix-list

Did you migrate your instance to 9.40?
I suspect 'onmode -BC 2' or thereabouts is the answer you need. Read
the release notes and/or manual for the details.

AFAIK it's not enabled by default, check out onmode -B

You need to first execute an "onmode -B 1" command. This sets the
expanded chunk capacity mode to enabled. You can leave it in this mode
or change it back to disabled.
If you after you "onmode -B 1" and then "onmode -B 2" you have enable
the expanded chunck mode permanently. And the only way to revert back
is to reinitialize the engine. But you must perform "onmode -B 1"
prior to "onmode -B 2".
If you attempt "onmode -B 2" with out first "onmode -B 1" it will
error.

This is true. To have enabled it by default would have caused
reversion issues. We chose not to enable it until the customer was
comfortable on the 9.4 release and was fairly certain that they would
not be reverting.
