To the members, Does anybody know how to select on a display only field calculated from a table. i.e. is it possible to select records in a ISQL form on a calculated/displayonly field. It seems like a useful thing to do interactively through the standard ISQL forms and I am sure it must Be possible. I guess it is just an alternative to selecting on a straight table field. So I want the "selected" records or "list" to contain records selected on the basis of a simple calculation. I was hoping I would not have to write a whole report and the graphical form display seems like a nice way to display the records. If anyone knows how send an email to me gdn@crt.co.nz THANKS all

Check if I have this correct: You want to present a freeform field in a query form in ISQL where the user can enter something that you use in some calculated format in the where clause of a query. With a few trivial exceptions the answer would be no. You will need the power of 4GL forms and reports to do this. The good news is that your ISQL forms and reports are fairly easily converted into 4GL forms and report modules although the glue is more involved. Art S. Kagel
