RE: Some vital information on ISM

David, The workaround is either to run a savegrp command as part of the level 0 backup - which incidentally has to be run as root to get any bootstrap information - or to run a backup every Sunday as root to ensure that there will be a full bootstrap. And watch this space as I still haven't completed the imported restore that I am working on. I've done one to a new IDS installation in the past but this one is to an existing IDS installation - and that is proving to be a different problem. Which IDS versions does it affect? How come this has not been noticed before? I'm tempted to write an XBSA client that can query the storage manager and find out what is in there.... _______________________________________________ Informix-list mailing list Informix-list@iiug.org http://www.iiug.org/mailman/listinfo/informix-list
How do I run the savegrp command? What is the syntax?
Hi, from your e-mail I don't really know what exactly you want to do. An example would be something like this: $INFORMIXDIR/bin/savegrp -O -l full ISMData where "-O" is a capital-o (not a zero), "ISMData" is the pool name where the bootstrap data should go, the command must be executed as user "root".
