onstat -a runaway process

Greetings, family (if y'all haven't disowned my by now ;-)
We have a problem (so what else it new) with onstat -a: we have a
script that periodically runs onstat -a and oncheck -pe. The onstat
occasionally starts to eat CPU and the user calls us DBAs to kill the
process.
If someone knows of a condition that triggers this misbehavior, please
respond. Alterntively, if someone knows what option it is running
when it heads into that loop, it would also help greatly, because we
would cut out the -a and replace it with options that exclude the
culprit.
Thanks much for any help on this.

Why in the h*ll are you prediocally running an onstat -a? This is a default
debugging mechanism, not a casual monitoring tool. Figure out what it is
you want to monitor and check THAT periodically - not the whole enchilada.
Much of the onstat -a output is fairly useless anyway, unless you're digging
into a single point of time in detail and don't know what it is your looking
for yet.
