Derrick, There is no way to get this data back short of getting the passwords from the administrator. Data from protected files is encrypted. David We have a SmartWare II package consisting of Database, Spreadsheet, Wordprocessor and Communications package at work that has not been used for a couple of years. I beleive that the package was purchased or upgraded from Smart in 1989 or 1990. The previous administrator had attached passwords to file names in the wordprocessor and spreadsheet and we would like to access this info now but of course we don't know the passwords and he says he had them written down but cannot find them after this ength of time. My question is: Is it possible to access these files somehow or not? Any help would be appreciated. Derrick
