What version of IDS and SDE are you using? Does ArcSde start at all or are you having problems with client connections? Are you using direct connects or a 3 tiered config? Can you post your onconfig and sdeconfig settings ( sdeconfig -o export ) Have you tried turning on SDE tracing in the dbinit.sde file? Add the following to the dbinit.sde file and post the output. set SDEVERBOSE=TRUE set SDEINTERCEPT=crwtf set SDEINTERCEPTLOC=/users/sde/etc/sde_intercept set SDETRACELOC=/users/sde//etc/sde_trace set SDE TRACEMODE=vhfb Stuart McCann -----Original Message----- From: ids-bounces@iiug.org [mailto:ids-bounces@iiug.org] On Behalf Of KARL OLIVER Sent: Wednesday, 29 September 2010 11:31 AM To: ids@iiug.org Subject: odbs driver error [21479] Hello We are having problems connection to a datbase via sde via odbc driver getting the error below Does anyone have ideas what this means please The datbase contain spatial data Wed Sep 29 14:08:22 2010] [5497] [WDCWAST203] ODBC Error: [Wed Sep 29 14:08:22 2010] [5497] [WDCWAST203] Database Error: 0 [Wed Sep 29 14:08:22 2010] [5497] [WDCWAST203] Error Message: [Wed Sep 29 14:08:22 2010] [5497] [WDCWAST203] db_stream_query_reset Execute Error (-51). jhere are versions again already posted once spatial.8.21.HC1/ IBM Informix Dynamic Server Version 9.40.HC5 HP-UX wdcuast5 B.11.11 U 9000/800 ArcSDE 9.2 The connection comming from a windows system After restarting sde on UNIX server and services on windows server errors are gone. I have no idea how windows is configured. Now the Windows server app cant get in at all by the looks of it. I think the problem is at the windows. The history behind the problem is as follows Our organisation dumped the firm that was supporting the application. So another prganisarion has taken over the support with out any knowledge of how the ap even worked ,no formal handover. I am certain that the Unix /sde setup is ok on the UNIX server. I did have to recreate the /opt/informix/extend/spatial.8.21.HC1/metadata /gis2_irsmain.nzlayers.loh As I had loaded a datbase instance into the server from another server. Apparently arc catalogue can access information ok.
