Question about wsock32 (GetAddressByName)
Posted in 1997
Hello out there, I'm currently writing a Windows95 based database application. The database is INFORMIX. I'm using INFORMIX-Net to connect to the database server. INFORMIX-Net uses winsock (or better wsock32) to establish the connection. When developing the app, I'm using the Microsoft TCP/IP stack and everything is working well. Now I've put my app onto another PC with Win95, but using FTP's TCP/IP stack. When starting the program I get the following error message: "The file ISQLT07C.DLL is linked with the missing export-WSOCK32.DLL:1109" The file ISQLT07C.DLL is shipped with INFORMIX-Net. I've made a dumpbin on the Microsoft version of wsock32.dll and found a function called GetAddressByName() with this number. But this function is nowhere defined in winsock.h or winsock2.h. In FTP's wsock32.dll this function is not declared. So what is going wrong here? I've thougt when using winsock, it makes no difference which TCP/IP stack is used. Do INFORMIX-Net need the Microsoft TCP/IP stack? Are there undocumented extensions in Microsoft's winsock implementation, which INFORMIX use? How can I solve the problem? Thanks in advance. Any hints are appreciated... Dirk EMAIL: dirk.scheer@stadt-mh.de
